Level 1 · Frequently asked questions
Do I need any wine knowledge to join Level 1?
None at all. Level 1 is designed for complete beginners. If you can tell red from white, you're ready. The course covers everything from scratch in a clear, approachable way.
What does the exam look like?
A 45-minute closed-book exam with 30 multiple-choice questions on 11 September. A score of 70% or higher is required to pass. There is no tasting component at Level 1.
Will I receive an official qualification?
Yes. Upon passing you receive an internationally recognised digital certificate issued by the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, delivered by Wine Way — a WSET Approved Programme Provider.
About WSET Level 1
The WSET L1 in Wines course is a beginner-level introduction to wine. It is suitable for those starting a wine career or pursuing an interest in wine.
For wine beginners, this qualification gives a hands-on introduction to the wine world. You’ll explore the main types and styles of wine. You’ll do this through sight, smell, and taste. You’ll also learn the basic skills to describe wines well and to pair food and wine.
Once you pass, you’ll receive a digital badge and certificate to celebrate your achievement. Share it instantly on LinkedIn, social media, or with your professional network to highlight your success!

Fun, Low-stress Way To Learn About Wine
I took the WSET course at Maison MURA in Miami. Petar made the course interesting and fun.
