HOW IT WORKS
COURSE DELIVERY: Five-week self-study program with four instructor-led, 2-hour online sessions via Google Meet. Exam options: online (Remote Invigilation) or in-person in Skopje, North Macedonia.
DURATION: Five weeks, including four 2-hour live online sessions.
PRIVATE STUDY: Recommended — 6 hours per week.
ONLINE, INSTRUCTOR-LED STUDY: Four 2-hour sessions.
- SAMPLES: Wines not included. We provide a recommended list of 14 wines, optional to taste throughout the course — you’ll get guidance on which styles to taste.
- EXAM: At sign-up, choose from the list of available online exam dates, or the in-person option in Skopje, North Macedonia.

About WSET Level 2 in Wines
WSET’s Level 2 in Wines is a beginner-to intermediate-level qualification. It explores wines and is suitable for industry pros and wine enthusiasts.
This wine course is intended for beginners wishing to learn about a wide range of wines or those seeking to build on the introductory knowledge gained with the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines. You’ll gain knowledge of the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world, the regions in which they are grown, and the styles of wine they produce.
You’ll explore wine by tasting and theory. You’ll learn about the factors that impact style and quality. And, you’ll learn to describe these wines with confidence.

ASSESSMENT
A one-hour closed-book examination comprised of 50 multiple-choice questions.
On successful completion of the examination you will receive a digital WSET certificate and lapel pin, and will be able to use the associated WSET certified logo.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions
What is a WSET Virtual Course?
A WSET Virtual Course is an official WSET class taught live by your educator via video platform. We use Google Meet. Enrolled students also receive access to our Level 2 Study & Support Program for additional preparation and guidance.
Do I need to attend the live sessions, or can I just watch a recording?
Live attendance is required — this is not a pre-recorded or self-paced course.
What happens if I miss one of my scheduled live sessions?
Sessions may be recorded, with permission, so you can catch up if you miss one occasionally. If you’re unable to attend, we also recommend reviewing the material in your course book, asking your educator any questions, and using the videos and mock questions in our Level 2 Study & Support Program.
What language are the courses taught in?
All classes are delivered in English. A good working level of English is required for all courses.
What are the requirements for attending WSET Level 2?
There are no prior qualifications required to enroll. You must be of legal drinking age in your country to take part in any tasting activities.
How does tasting work in an online course?
Tasting is a core part of every WSET course. For virtual courses, you’ll source your own samples, with guidance from Petar on which styles to buy. Throughout the course, you’ll share your tasting notes with your educator, who’ll give you feedback to help refine your palate.
What tasting equipment do I need?

How many devices do I need for the virtual course and online exam?
You’ll need a laptop or desktop computer (Windows 10/11, macOS, or Chromebook) as your primary device, and a mobile phone or tablet with a working camera as your secondary device for the exam.
I'm not confident with technology — will I get help if I need it?
Yes. We’re here to support you with any technical questions or setup help, both during the course and ahead of your exam.
How do I sit the exam for an online course?
For Levels 1 and 2, exams are completed online through Remote Invigilation (RI), with your exam date fixed and confirmed at the time of enrolment. Full RI requirements and guidance are available HERE
Do you offer an alternative to the Remote Invigilation exam?
Yes — a paper-based, in-person exam is available as an alternative to RI, held in Skopje, North Macedonia
Is Remote Invigilation available everywhere?
RI exams are conducted in English and are not currently available to candidates in Mainland China or the UAE. If this applies to you, contact us to discuss the in-person exam option.
What if I can't attend my Remote Invigilation exam?
You can reschedule your RI exam up to 10 working days before the scheduled date at no charge. Cancellations made within 10 working days will incur a $225 rebooking fee for the next available Level 2 RI exam.
Will I receive a physical certificate or badge?
WSET issues certificates and badges digitally. Physical certificates and badges are no longer available.
For how long will I have access to the WSET eBook and L2 Study & Support?
1 year for the WSET Level 2 in Wines eBook, and access to L2 Study & Support until you pass the exam.
What support and guidance will I receive?
Petar, your educator, is available throughout the course to answer your questions on the material and help you develop your tasting skills. Our Level 2 Study & Support Program includes preparation videos, mock exam questions, and dry tasting notes to help you prepare for both the course and the final exam.
